DAY -2: IT'S 3AM, WHAT AM I DOING?

"Ah what the hell?"
Watch me sink more time into this than actual worthwhile projects...

I just know it, I'm gonna get way too ambitious, gonna spend two hours a night just writing and rewriting this thing so it's both valuable to me and accessible to both my friends, internet friends, and extended family that my mom will send this link to. Guess that means I can't swear.

Poop.

I've had several ideas about this since one of my aunts (or was it the uncle? I think it might've been both at once really) suggesting I keep a blog. Sure looked like an appealing idea, until I went searching for my old blogspot I was forced to write in 2013 and there were three EXTREMELY cringey posts I had to send to drafts never to be seen again. No, you won't see them. Yes, these are probably equally unbearable.
But yeah should I do this EVERY DAY? Every week? Whenever I want? What should I write? How much? How much detail? What if I turn to gossiping to all of you as a way to decompress and one of my teammates find it? And for god's sake don't talk TOO MUCH about just anime, for the love of--

Digimon Adventure 02 ended so sappy. They did a timeskip of 25 years later where they all have kids who have their own digimon and go on their own adventures. Literally Harry Potter. Except there's more seasons after (unrelated thank goodness) including now Digimon Tri existing? I'm not really in a mood to watch it. Looking forward to Tamers though, hope I don't have too high standards for it lol

Idk why I managed to finish 02 but then chose to work all night on this blog thing instead of finishing Doremi #, right when it was getting heavier than it's gotten before. Hana the baby is just DYING now--oop guess I shouldn't spoil it. Another great season, I don't THINK I can choose between the OG and #...

I finally rewatched Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, this time with Cam who hadn't seen any other Kawajiri. Great time again, but also dozed off towards the end like last time. Idk what it is the film exhausts me in a super good way seriously. Ninja Scroll hasn't done that in the five times I've seen it but I still really like this film.

and yeah I could probably go on with other stuff but I could spend forever on impressions and whatever, so I think I'll just regiment it to whatever episodes of stuff I saw the day I'm writing/posting this. Maybe I'll add a screenshot somewhere, that'll be nice.

ugh now I'm compelled to make that roulette for this anime recommendation section 😛
His and Her Circumstances (1998)

But not now. I'm talking about Kare Kano, it's on my mind since the first track on my mixtape (linked on the side) is from that show's score. This is an exceptional school romance dramedy (on the surface it's more comedy but I think it handles drama as well if not better) about these two high schoolers meeting, butting heads, fall for each other, and navigate being a couple--which happens very early on, which is considerably refreshing for this sub-genre. Helmed by Hideaki Anno with a young talented animation staff including early Imaishi (the Gurren Lagann/KLK guy), it's a firecracker / 10. Don't believe the "last 8 or so eps are bad" rumor, that's not what trips this show up. Rather the frequent and nearly encroaching amount of recaps and repetition, I wonder how even better this could've been as one cour instead of two. Not to mention this show's often experimental art direction is a double edged sword, simultaneously unforgettable and "OOPS WE WILL NEVER GET THIS IN HD BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY MIXED DIGITAL MEDIA WITH CEL ANIMATION!" Or something like that, most often I can look past that stuff but it's just one of many small things that just permeates this show with a feeling of reckless abandon rather than perfection. But maybe that's what makes it so beloved.
